These neurotoxins work by blocking the nerve impulses that cause muscle contraction, preventing or improving dynamic wrinkles, or those caused by muscle movement and facial expressions. Xeomin
Xeomin, "PureTox"
Xeomin (IncobolulinumtoxinA) is one of five FDA approved neurotoxins and is also known as the "naked" neurotoxin due to the purity of the product. It is special in that it is a double-filtered formula that removes all unnecessary accessory protiens, making it a very small injectable molecule. Without additional protiens and additives, your body is less likely to build resistance and antibodies to this specific neurotoxin.
Dysport
Dysport, manufactured by Galderma is similar in structure to Botox cosmetic but can provide a faster onset and increased duration of treatment. It is the ideal neurotoxin for those needing treated very close to an event. You can typically expect to see onset much quicker than other neurotoxins, within 24-72 hours. Dysport also provides a denser block than other toxins, and is a favorite for many seasoned neurotoxin clients.

FAQ
How are neurotoxins different?
All five FDA approved neurotoxins are both used to treat and prevent wrinkles, fine lines, and deep facial furrows. By working beneath the surface, neurotoxin helps reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes the skin to appear wrinkled or folded.
All neurotoxins are very similar in producing wrinkle relaxation. They may vary slightly in onset, length of action and allergy risk, but all are very effective treatments.
How much does treatment cost?
Neurotoxins are dosed by the unit, and start at $12 per unit. Unit dosing depends on patient age, the strength of the muscle and the mass of each muscle. Each client has individualized needs, and the treatment plan and cost will be determined and discussed with each patient prior to injection.
Common treatment areas and dosing include:
Glabella: "11"s" or angry face: 20 units
Frontalis: Forehead lines: 10-20 units
Orbicularis Occuli: Crow's feet: 10-15 units per side
Nasalis: Bunny lines: 4-10 units
Orbicularis Oris: Lip flip: 4-8 units
Masseters: TMJ/Tooth grinding: 15-25 units per side
When will i see results?
Neurotoxin takes between 3-14 days to visually see results. It can be painstakingly slow to look in the mirror every day and not see significant change. It takes time, but once it takes effect you will be amazed at your results.
REMEMBER - Tox does not take full effect for 14 days. Do not expect results sooner!
How long do results last?
Results typically last 3-4 months on average. Duration can be effected by extreme exercise, long-term tox injections leading to resistance, and recent COVID infection/vaccination.
Duration is also highly determined by dose and skill of your injector. Developing a relationship and open communication with your provider is the most important factor in achieving the results you desire.
How many treatments will i need?
Neurotoxins will only need one single treatment to show results. It is common that an area may need a small adjustment or correction after toxin sets up. Results last about 3-4 months, therefore treatments can continue upon this timeline for as long as the patient desires.
Will I need time to recover?
Neurotoxin injections consist of several tiny injections directly into the muscles you wish to treat. Pain is typically minimal and brief during the procedure. You may see pinpoint bleeding or bruising at the needle insertions site. Make sure to schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to events.
