Botox, Xeomin, Dysport Jeuvau & Daxxify are all FDA approved neuromodulators widely known as “botox” or “toxin”. These neuromodulators block the nerve impulses causing muscle contraction, preventing or improving dynamic wrinkles, or those caused by muscle movement and facial expressions. Botox can only improve wrinkles caused by direct muscle contraction.
Common Treatment areas and dosing include:
"PURE TOX"
Xeomin (incobolulinumtoxinA) is one of five FDA approved neurotoxins and is also known as the "naked" neurotoxin due to the purity of the product. It is special in that is is a double-filtered forumula that removes all unnecessary accessory protiens, making it a very small injectable molecule. Without additional proteins and additives, your body is less likely to build resistance and antibodies to this specific neurotoxin.
Dysport, manufactured by Galderma, is similar in structure to Botox Cosmetic but can provide a faster onset and increased duration of treatment. It is the ideal neurotoxin for those needing treated very close to an event. You can typically expect to see onset much quicker than other neurotoxins, within 24-72 hours. Dysport also provides a denser block than other toxins, and is a favorite for many seasoned neurotoxin clients.

Botox injections consist of several tiny injections directly into the muscles you wish to treat. Pain is typically minimal and brief during the procedure. You may see pinpoint bleeding or bruising at the needle insertion site.
PRIOR to injections: we ask that you avoid blood-thinning medications including Aspirin, NSAID’s (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naproxen, etc.) for 10-14 days. Also avoiding ginseng, ginkgo and garlic supplements can help avoid bruising. Please refrain from alcohol 24 hours before your procedure.
AFTER injections: refrain from touching the injection sites or massaging the areas toxin was placed. Patients must avoid applying makeup, exercise, heat, showers, massages, saunas, hats (forehead injections) & wearing sunglasses. Avoid laying down to sleep for four hours after injections. Non-adherence to these guidelines can shift the toxin into unintended muscle groups and result in undesired cosmetic results.
Injections typically take less than 15 min. Botox is considered the “lunchtime” wrinkle treatment.
Quick in - Quick out!
Botox takes between 3-14 days to see results. It can be painstakingly slow to look in the mirror every day and not see significant change. It takes time, but once it takes effect you will be amazed at your results.
REMEMBER - Toxin does not take full effect for 14 days. Do not expect results sooner!
Results typically last 3-4 months on average. Duration can be effected by extreme exercise, long-term injections leading to resistance, and recent COVID infection/vaccination.
Duration is also highly determined by dose and skill of your injector. Developing a relationship and open communication with your injector is such an important factor in achieving the results you desire.
Botox was approved by the FDA for therapeutic medical use in 1989. After extensive research and clinical trials, it gained approval for cosmetic use to treat moderate to severe frown lines in 2002. Since then, the FDA has expanded neurotoxin approval to treat multiple areas of dynamic wrinkles, hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) and migraine headaches to name a few).
Nearly 3 million neurotoxin injections are performed world-wide each year. Treatment with cosmetic neurotoxins are viewed as safe, effective and free of serious side effects. The most common side effects seen include transient symptoms occurring after injection including headaches, bruising, redness or pain at the injection site.
Duration is also highly determined by dose and skill of your injector. Developing a relationship and open communication with your injector is such an important factor in achieving the results you desire.
Thorough consolation and treatment planning will be discussed with every client. Our goal at Remedy is to achieve natural looking results, keeping your cosmetic goals in mind. Retaining the ability to produce facial expressions, while lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is strategically planned with your practitioner.
